Ayyuhal Walad: A free course with Shaykh Abu Aaliyah

This course will be based on the short epistle of Imam Ghazali, Ayyuhal Walad, which contains a series of compounded counsels for his student. A student of Imam Ghazali asks of his teacher a truly powerful question; what will benefit him in the grave?  He wrote in his letter that although Imam Ghazali has written numerous books on this issue, he was in need of something that he could always study and always act upon its injunctions. In reply to his letter, Imam Ghazali  sent him the following advices, that will address points of faith, knowledge and action. This book contains immense wisdom and spiritual benefits that any student of knowledge and slave of Allah should take hold of, and practically implement in his daily life.

Course Teacher:

Ustadh Abu Aaliyah Surkheel Sharif has been involved in Islamic teaching both in the UK and abroad since the late 1980’s. Abu Aaliyah has studied the Islamic theology, law, and spirituality with a number of scholars over the last 20 years. He has authored a number of titles, including ‘More Fish Please’, ‘The Golden Rule of Differing’ and ‘Evolution, Prayer Mats and Telescopes’. He has an MA in Islamic Studies; serves as an imam; has completed a number of translations; and is currently the Director of The Jawziyyah Institute.
