Terms of Agreement
Upon registering for the Arabic Summer School, a binding contract exists between ASI and the registrant. The contract is made on the terms of the following conditions which are governed by English Law. Any disputes arising from the contract are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England or Wales.
Refunds and Instalment Plans
All payment plans as detailed here must be paid in full by 13th July 2025.
There is a no refund policy in place for this programme except for circumstances under the following circumstances, in which case full or partial refund may be issued:
– Statutory mistake or misrepresentation
– Courses that have been discontinued or rescheduled (Force majeure limitations apply)
– Exceptional circumstances. Al-Salam Institute retains full discretion as to what is considered an exceptional circumstance. All refund requests due to exceptional circumstances must be received within 14 days of tuition fee payment or first instalment.
Registrants who are later unable to attend the programme for any reason should submit a withdrawal request as early as possible by emailing: residentials@alsalam.ac.uk. A refund cannot be issued under any circumstances, and there may be a cancellation fee of £50 for withdrawal requests received before 13th July 2025.
Students withdrawing may not transfer the fees paid for the Arabic Summer School onto any other course or programme delivered by Al-Salam Institute.
Withdrawal requests received on or after 13th July 2025, or unauthorised absences from the programme, may be subject to further penalties.
Transferring Your Booking
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to another person. You are solely responsible for finding a replacement.
Cancellations made by ASI
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the Arabic Summer School at our sole discretion. If we cancel or postpone the Arabic Summer School, we will use reasonable efforts to reschedule the cancelled or postponed event to within twenty four (24) months from its original start date.
If for any reason ASI must cancel or change the Start Date of any Arabic Summer School, for any reason whatsoever, you’re entitled to transfer the sums paid to another Arabic Summer School (either scheduled or at some future time) to be used as credit. Alternatively, you may request a refund of payments made by you to the Company, which will be accommodated for insofar as is possible, taking into consideration any non-retrievable costs to which we committed in anticipation of your Retreat.
Room Damages
If you damage your room or any of the property within your accommodation, you will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any damage.
Personal Belongings
During the trip, all participants are responsible for the security of all of their personal travel documents and assets. Loss of items, passports etc are not the responsibility of ASI.
Liability and Safety
Risk Acknowledgement
By confirming your booking, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with cultural and historical exploration travel, which include, but are not limited to, the risk of personal injury, illness, property damage, or other unforeseen events. You further understand and accept that such risks are an inherent aspect of the experience, and you agree to assume full responsibility for your participation in the trip.
Limitation of Liability
While we endeavour to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, ASI Tours, Al-Salam Institute, and our partner organisations disclaim any liability for injuries, losses, delays, cancellations, or disruptions arising from events beyond our control. These include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, or any other circumstances that may interfere with the trip.
Medical Expenses
Participants are solely responsible for all medical expenses incurred during the trip, including, but not limited to, emergency medical treatment, hospitalisation, or evacuation if required. It is strongly advised that all participants secure comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for medical emergencies, repatriation, and any potential trip cancellations.
Waiver of Liability
By participating in the trip, you agree to irrevocably waive any claims or legal actions against ASI Tours, Al-Salam Institute, and our partner organisations, including those arising from negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law. It is strongly recommended that participants purchase travel insurance to cover all potential risks, including injury, medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and trip disruption.
It is the responsibility of the participant to purchase any health insurance when obtaining their Tourist Visa.
Covid-19 Protocol: Students are required to bring their own testing kits for Covid-19. If a student tests positive, they will be required to self-isolate in order to protect other students on the programme.
Etiquettes
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they behave responsibly and with the correct Islamic etiquette whilst they are at the Arabic Summer School.
Video Recording
Video or audio recordings of any of the classes taking place throughout the programme, whether on-campus or on educational tours of the area, are strictly prohibited. Persons found to be conducting video or audio recordings may be removed from the programme.
Data Protection and Privacy
We observe the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 in respect of all personal data held by the Institute at any time. We will not pass on such data to third parties save where this is necessary in connection with the performance by us of our contract with you, or as otherwise authorised by you.
We may use such data to notify you of our upcoming events, offers and promotions from time to time. For full details of our data protection and privacy policy, please refer to Al-Salam Institute’s Privacy Policy.
Updates
Provisions contained in these terms and conditions may be revised from time to time by our amendment of the information contained in this document.
