Arabic Summer School:
Morocco 2018
Al-Salam Institute will be taking a select group of students to Rabat, Morocco, for a bespoke Classical Arabic programme, hosted by the Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams & Mourchidats. The Summer School is open to both students of ASI’s Islamic Scholarship Programme as well as students of the Arabic language who would like to spend one month in an immersive environment, practising their speaking, listening and communicative skills.
Programme Details
Course Modules:
The taught programme will include 7 hours of daily tuition (Mondays to Saturdays):
1. Spoken Arabic
2. Reading and Writing skills
3. Grammar
4. Morphology
5. Quran memorisation

Educational Tours:
There are 4 educational tours scheduled, forming part of the Spoken Arabic module (Sundays):
1. Guided tour of the historical monuments of Rabat, including the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas
2. Guided tour of the museum complex and largest mosque in Morocco: Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca.
3. Visit to the historical city of Fes, including a tour of al-Qarawiyyin and UNESCO heritage sites.
4. Visit to the beautiful town of Ifrane, located in the Middle Atlas mountain range in Morocco.
Experiencing Moroccan Eid:
Eid al-Adha 2018 is likely to be on Weds 22nd August. A small number of Moroccan families have agreed to host students during the days of Eid, allowing for a truly unique experience of the Moroccan culture during the summer programme.
